YES to this. Yes, yes, yes. The how of storytelling may vary–a bunch of conflicting accounts a la Rashomon, a set of letters like The Color Purple, a straightforward narrative like The Conversion of the Jews–but for me, the what remains the same: examining the ties that bind us to each other. Or the lack thereof. I’ve never seen this concept spelled out as clearly as Ms. Kirino put it.
